We’ve built the hold - archive to make styling and rentals as smooth and transparent as possible. These terms are here to keep things clear and fair for everyone.
These Terms & Conditions apply to all rentals and services provided by the hold - archive. By placing an order or using our services, you agree to these terms.

1. Booking & Contract
All rentals should be confirmed in writing (email is sufficient).
Your booking becomes binding once confirmed by us or once items are collected.
Please place orders at least 3 working days in advance to ensure availability.
If shorter notice is given, we cannot guarantee availability or condition.

2. Use of Items
All items must be used with care and only for their intended purpose.
Items may not be altered, modified, or passed on to third parties without prior approval.
You are responsible for proper handling, transport, and storage.
All items must be returned in good condition.

3. Rental Period
The rental period starts on the day of collection or shipment and ends when the items are returned.
Rental duration is selected at booking and determines the total rental fee.
Collection and returns take place during business hours.

4. Responsibility & Liability
From the moment you receive the items until they are returned, you are fully responsible for them.
We strongly recommend arranging appropriate insurance, as the Hold Archive does not insure rental items.
In case of damage:
You are responsible for repair and cleaning costs where applicable.
If an item is lost or unusable, it must be replaced at its replacement value.
This value reflects the original or current market value of the item, not the rental fee.
Please check all items immediately upon receipt and notify us of any issues right away.
Otherwise, items are considered accepted in good condition.

5. Usage Rights
Renting an item does not include any intellectual property or usage rights (e.g. for artworks, photography, or design objects).
If required, you are responsible for obtaining the appropriate rights from the respective rights holders.

6. Transport
Items are collected from our location unless otherwise agreed.
Transport and shipping costs are the responsibility of the renter.
Shipping can be arranged upon request and at your cost.
Risk transfers to you once the items are handed over or shipped.

7. Payments
All invoices are issued after production and are due upon receipt.
Rental fees are calculated based on the selected rental period.
The weekly rate is based on 20% of the item’s value, increasing with duration.
Test shoots are charged at a reduced rate of 10%.
If payment is not made within 14 days, you are considered in default.
In case of late payment, we reserve the right to charge interest.
Reserved items that are not collected will still be charged.
If we are able to re-rent them, only the incurred costs will be charged.
Additional charges may apply for late returns, damage, or required cleaning and repairs.

8. General
These Terms are governed by German law.
Place of jurisdiction is Hamburg.
If any part of these Terms is found to be invalid, the remaining provisions remain unaffected.
